Sprint car racing at Chico
The first stop. Silver Dollar Speedway, Chico, California. Our two Drivers, no. 11 Peter Murphy and no. 12, my cousin, Scott Parker. Pete did well, got about 12th in the time trials. 3rd in his heat and 7th in the A-Main. Scott got about 19th in the time trials, 5th in his heat and got to the B-Main. He went from 10th to 7th but missed the A-main buy one spot. We got to bed at 12:30 am.

What I did when I got to America
My Dad, Brother and I landed in San Francisco after 11 hours and 7 minutes on a pretty cool aeroplane. I watched 2 awesome movies. The first one was Toy Story 3. The second one was The Lion King. We hopped on the air train to the Rental Car centre. We drove for 3 hours and 15 minutes in hour rental car, over Bay Bridge which collapsed in the massive earthquake of San Francisco in 1989. Driving over Bay Bridge we saw The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz prison and Island. After driving we got to Chico, CA.

June 9-11
For the next three days there was more racing. All were in Oregon. Medford, Cottage Grove and Lebanon. Our drivers did well at those races.


Tuesday 12 June
We drove for 4 hours into Washington to race at Elma but it was cancelled because of the rain. So add two extra hours on and you get 6 hours driving to the top of Washington. We went to Burlington.

Wednesday 13 June
Dad and I drove for two hours to Seattle-Tacoma Airport to pick up my Auntie Lori, cousin Sarah, Talia and Mum. On the way back to Burlington we drove for 5-10 minutes until we ran out of fuel. But we were going down an off ramp which was all downhill. We came to an intersection and the lights were green so we glided through the intersection to a fuel station which was under construction. But there was another fuel station in walking distance. Dad got a can of fuel and brought it to the car. We got home safely.

June 14-16
Skagit Speedway-Night 1/3
The fifth stop. Skagit Speedway Jim Raper Memorial 41st annual Dirt Cup. Pete and Scott are fired up. Pete got 9th in the time trials, 3rd in his heat and he did extremley well and got to the A-Main. He started 3rd and drumroll please............ FINISHED 1ST!!! Scott got 15th in the time trials, 5th in his heat and got to the B-Main. he started 11th and finished 9th. He missed the A-Main by two spots.
Night 2/3. Pete got about 12th in time trials, 3rd in his heat and 3rd in the A-main. Scott got 19th in the time trials, 5th in his heat and 7th in the B-Main. He got his third A-Main but finished 16 of 22 but the cars behind him all crashed.

Saturday 16 June 9:00 - 11:00 pm
The Tepnyaki Japanese restaurant
Skagit Speedway racing tonight was postponed  to the 17 of June but instead we went to a Tepnyaki restaurant across the street . A Japanese man called Roy came and cooked in front of us.  He threw egg at all of us and I was one of the lucky people to catch it in my mouth.

Sunday 17 June - Wednesday  20 June.
Trip to Canada.
The final night of Skagit was postponed until August 31st.  Instead of staying in Washington we drove for 6 hours into the Coast Mountains.  We stayed in the Best Western Hotel in Salmon Arm British Columbia.
Next we drove another 6 hours over the Interior Plateau and into the Canadian Rockies.  We met up with My Mum's sister Christine Barea and Uncle Laurence and my cousins Ashley and Emily.  We stayed in a tipi for two nights and went for a hike in the snow to a frozen lake called Lake Rawson. We then stayed a night at their house.  

21 June - 25 June Thursday - Sunday
From Chestermere, Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Coarsegold, Fresno, California, USA
If you think 6 hours is long, try 36 hours. But we did 10 on the first, then five or 6 for three days. We are only 6 hours away right now.


On the 22 of June we went to Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. We saw wildife such as Bison and Elk. We were even lucky enough to see a Black Bear 50 metres from the car. But my favourite part was seeing one of the biggest geysers in the world, Old Faithful explode 30 metres into the air.

The next day we went to Yellowstone Bear World. We saw Black Bear cubs and Talia, Jarrod and I got to feed the cubs. I fed Mumford, Cooper, Tucker, Driver and Spanky.









June 25-28
Today we travelled for 6 hours through Yosemite National Park, California. We got out  and walked to see Yosemite falls. Then we travelled to Coarsgold and saw my Auntie Lori and Uncle Craig, and cousin Sarah and again, Scott. We stayed three nights at their house and the drove for four hours to Hollywood, Los Angeles. We stayed 1 night and then went to Universal Studios. I did three rides but my favourite was the Transformers ride in 3-D. You hop on an autobot called Evac and then look at a screen while you are moving around. You see Bumble Bee, Devastator, Sideswipe, Megatron, Wheelie, Evac and my favourite, Optimus Prime. the next ride I did was Jurassic Park the ride. you go bact to prehistoric times and see lots of dinosaurs. at the end you have to evacuate so this happens... 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. AAAHHH. You plummet down an 84 foot drop and get soaking wet. The one other ride I did was the Simpsons ride. You sit in a 8 person carriage and you look at a screen but Sideshow bob takes over and turns it from thrilling to killing. As you go along at the start Maggie turns into a giant baby. Through the ride you go on a roller coaster while Sideshow bob is trying to kill you.





June 29-July 4
Trip To Disneyland
On June 30 and July 1 and 3 we went to Disneyland. I cant tell you about everything but I will tell you my 2 favourite rides. My second favourite was Radiotor Springs Races ( or RSR. ) You go for a relaxing drive through Ornament Valley. At the end you race another car. I did it three times and won 2/3. My favourite ride was Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. You sit in a Jeep and it is jurking around and racing into sharp turns. We left America on the 4 of July which is also Independence Day and we had a great flight home.
